In 2017, Scott E. Jordan retained his CEO title, but all of his responsibilities within our company were given to current President Marshall Rule. With his wife, Laura, he started SCOTTeVEST in 2000 with no fashion (or product design) experience. Prior to stepping down from the management of SCOTTeVEST, Scott grew the company from his and Laura’s guest bedroom into Inc.com’s fastest growing companies, now offering more than 60 garments for men and women including jackets, pants, hoodies, hats, even underwear.
In his free time, Scott enjoys hiking beautiful Sun Valley trails, skiing Baldy mountain and playing with his four Standard Poodles. He also enjoys testing all of the latest gadgets. If there is new technology on the market, Scott will be one of the first to have it!
Laura Jordan is the Co-Founder and President of SCOTTeVEST. Laura received her Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law, and she also has a B.S. in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and Philosophy from New York University.
Laura's hobbies include skiing, hiking, reading and competing in triathlons and adventure races. She loves hanging out with Scott and their four Standard Poodles – Chloe, Susie, Rhonda and Sabrina.
On March 2, 2012, Scott appeared on the popular TV program Shark Tank. In what is considered one of the most controversial episodes in the show's history, Scott was unwilling to give the Sharks a piece of SCOTTeVEST, only the licensing company TEC-Technology Enabled Clothing®. What ensued was a battle with Mark Cuban, a call to Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, and Scott walking out of the room with $1 million still on the table.
Some people praised Scott for standing up to the Sharks and keeping his head on his shoulders. Others scorned him, saying that it was all a publicity stunt or that he was disrespectful and a "patent troll." But, there are two sides to every story! To learn what went on behind the scenes and why Scott didn't take the offer, click here.
If you are interested in connecting with Scott to talk pockets, poodles and passion, please send him an email, or connect via Twitter and Google +.
Scott looks forward to hearing from you!
On his way to becoming the world’s self-proclaimed "Pocket Man," Scott wrote a book highlighting his mistakes and lessons he learned, which you can buy on Amazon here. He loves sharing his tips and tricks with students, other entrepreneurs as well as his competitors. He's made numerous public appearances including The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, speaking at Google HQ and on CES Fashion Forward panels.
If you're interested in booking Scott to speak at your event, school or work function, please email pr@scottevest.com.
Laura and Scott are the proud parents of four Standard Poodles, who they love to take on hikes and play frisbee with at the local parks.
In 2000, Laura and Scott Jordan realized there was a major disconnect between apparel designers and the consumers who wore the clothing. The technological advances of the 21st century produced cell phones, portable cameras, chargers, mp3 players (remember those?) and other portable electronic devices, but no creative solution for carrying them.
After growing tired of carrying all of Scott’s gadgets and gear in her purse, Laura suggested he figure out an alternative. Since a man purse was not an option for Scott, and traditional pockets couldn’t carry everything, he created the “eVest” (a fisherman’s vest modified with extra pockets). Since then, SCOTTeVEST has evolved into a full line of intelligent clothing that feature well-designed pockets to carry all of life’s gadgets without lugging around an extra bag or pack.
